Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated a 21-storey Tidel Park in Pattabiram, near Avadi, Chennai, on 22 November, 2024. Built at a cost of Rs 330 crore, the facility is expected to catalyse the growth of the Information Technology (IT) sector in northern Tamil Nadu, signifying a major leap in the state's development agenda.
Spanning 5.57 lakh sq. ft. area, this park is expected to generate employment for 6,000 IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) professionals in its initial phase. This marks it as the third such park in the state, following similar facilities in Chennai and Coimbatore. The infrastructure includes features such as ample parking, uninterrupted diesel generator (DG) power backup, a multi-cuisine food court, auditorium, and a gymnasium, making it a prime destination for IT companies.
Highlighting the inclusive approach, the Chief Minister linked the project to the 'Dravidian model of development' which emphasises equitable growth and extends economic opportunities to tier-II and tier-III cities. This initiative reflects proactive measures of the state to strengthen its position as a leader in India's IT ecosystem.
The Pattabiram Tidel Park integrates northern Tamil Nadu more robustly into the IT sector, addressing regional disparities and fostering growth in less urbanised areas.
