The Tamil Nadu Government is mulling to set up an industrial park, aerospace park near Chennai.
The proposed park to be meant exclusively for aircraft components manufacturing industries is likely to come up on 100 acre. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) has sought 100 acre from State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) in Sriperumbudur for the proposed park project.
Further, the state government intends to set up an integrated aerospace park in the 3,000-acre Perambalur SEZ project. It also envisages setting up of a satellite MRO facility adjoining the Chennai airport in an area of around 50 acre. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation is in the process of identifying land for MRO facility near Chennai airport. L&T-Ramboll has been appointed as the consultant to carry out the feasibility study and marketing assistance.
