Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has inked fresh memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 3,000 crore during his official tour of Germany and the United Kingdom, highlighting his administration’s push to attract foreign investments.
The Munich-headquartered braking systems major Knorr-Bremse announced a Rs 2,000 crore project to set up manufacturing facilities for railway doors and braking systems in Tamil Nadu, marking its first major investment in the state and promising 3,500 employment. Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group committed Rs 1,000 crore to expand operations, generating 2,500 new work opportunities, and reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s leadership in renewable energy manufacturing.
Additionally, ebm-papst will invest Rs 201 crore over five years to scale up its Global Capability Centre and manufacturing base, creating 250 jobs in HVAC, automotive, and industrial applications. Stalin also engaged with BMW Group executives, who expressed keen interest in future expansions. The CM emphasised the visit’s goal was to “attract investments and sign new pacts,” ahead of his return on September 8.
