Tata Power Solar Systems (TPSSL), has received a letter of award (LoA) of Rs 1,755 crore for setting up a 300 MW domestic content requirement (DCR) based EPC project for NLC India (NLCIL), under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) scheme.
The project, located at Barsingar in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, is expected to generate more than 750 mln units, with the ability to reduce six lakh tonne of CO2 annually. TPSSL will carry out the complete project execution from designing to commissioning and the evacuation system up to delivery point (220 kV side of pooling substation).
TPSSL will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project, which is for three years after the commercial operation declaration (COD). The project will be commissioned within 18 months from the date of LoA.
TPSSL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), and with this win, its total portfolio will touch 11.5 GWp. NLCIL, formerly called Neyveli Lignite Corporation, contributes to the energy sector, with large-scale lignite production, along with a prominent share in thermal and renewable power generation.
