Tata Power Ltd is planning to set up a 600 MW
hydel power project at Shrinagar in Darrang district of Uttar Pradesh entailing
a total outlay of Rs.1,500 crore.
The proposed project is awaiting for board's clearances
for financial closure following which the project will commence.
The company has also plans to set up a 1,000 MW
thermal power plant in Delhi, a 1,000 MW thermal power plant on the coastal belt
of Mumbai and a 1,000 MW unit at Maithon in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand in
collaboration with the Damodar Valley Corporation.
For the coming up project in Maithon the company
has already acquired 950 acre of land in two stages including 450 acre of forest
land and has recently initiated a second round of due-diligence for the project
in which the estimation of the project cost will be finalized.
