Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) marked its 10th year of operations on 18 November, 2025, marking its evolution into one of India's most advanced steel plants.
Launched in 2015, the plant initially had a capacity of three MTPA and has now expanded to eight MTPA, backed by over Rs 50,000 crore in investments. The plant produces over 100 grades of steel for sectors like automotive, infrastructure, and energy. Odisha has become Tata Steel’s largest investment destination in India, with a total investment of over Rs one lakh crore over the last 10 years
.The plant is on track to become a 16 MTPA complex and holds 'Responsible Steel' certification. It operates as a zero effluent discharge (ZED) facility, with 100 percent solid waste utilization, with 33 percent green cover and a 40 percent reduction in freshwater use. CEO TV Narendran stated, “Kalinganagar now stands as a symbol of technological excellence, sustainability and shared growth with Odisha.”
