Tata Steel is likely to begin trial
production at its Stocksbridge steelworks in South Yorkshire in the
UK by December 2011.
The company has invested Pound 6.5
million (approx 50.7 crore) in two vacuum arc remelting furnaces and
specialist testing equipment to produce more steel for the aerospace
industry. Currently, final installation work is being carried out on
the new equipment to enable trial production to begin by December.
Both furnaces are expected to be in full production in early 2012.
