Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the Telangana State Cabinet has approved an 800 MW thermal power project in the Ramagundam region, aligning with the aspirations of the people in Peddapalli district.
Speaking at a public meeting in Godavarikhani, he revealed that a formal announcement would be made soon in Ramagundam. Deputy CM Vikramarka, along with several ministers, also laid the foundation stones for development works worth around Rs 175 crore, including drinking water pipelines and other civic infrastructure. The Deputy CM recalled that during his 2023 People’s March padayatra, residents had expressed a need for a new thermal power project due to the closure of the old facility. This new project is expected to boost employment and livelihood opportunities in the region.
Highlighting the significance of the Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL), he said, "SCCL has unmatched expertise in mining compared to any other institution in the country," and urged it to explore rare earth minerals for further growth.
