Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on 09 August, 2025 announced that Telangana will develop iconic projects near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and set up dry ports along the Regional Ring Road.
The plan also includes promoting river-based tourism on the Godavari and Krishna, create waterfront leisure hubs in cities, and introduce attractions like golf tourism, adventure activities, and river festivals.
The Telangana Tourism Policy 2025–2030, effective from March 17, targets positioning Telangana among the top five destinations in domestic and global tourist arrivals, drawing Rs 15,000 crore in new investments in five years, creating three lakh employment, and raising tourism’s GDP share to at least 10 percent. Plans include forming the State Tourism Promotion Board, Empowered Committee, Promotion Committee, and Destination Management Organisations for effective implementation.
