The Telangana government, in collaboration with STT Global Data Centres India (STT GDC India), has signed a Rs 35 billion memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a data centre campus in Meerkhanpet, Hyderabad. 

The MoU was signed on 18 January, 2025 in Singapore, in the prsence of Telangana's IT Minister D Sridhar Babu and STT GDC CEO, Bruno Lopez. The partnership aims to position Hyderabad as a leading hub for global technology infrastructure.

STT GDC India plans to invest approx. USD 3.2 billion to achieve a design capacity of one GW across India within the next decade. This initiative aligns with Telangana's vision of fostering economic growth and creating a sustainable digital future. The AI-ready data centre campus will feature advanced technology, with a target capacity of up to 100 MW, ensuring scalability for future growth.
