The Telangana government plans on setting up two new aerospace parks in the state.
While one of the two parks is planned at Ibrahimpatnam adjoining the existing aviation SEZ at Adibatla, the second is earmarked for Warangal district. The two parks will be spread over 1,000 acre and 500 acre, respectively.
Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) is setting up three new facilities in the 250 acre aerospace SEZ at Adibatla, in alliance with Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin to manufacture helicopter cabins, aircraft and their components.
Telangana is presently readying a new industrial policy and has identified aerospace as one of the sectors with the potential to attract sizable investments and create local employment.
