Station Ghanpur MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari visited the Devadula Project Phase village in Zaffergadh Mandal, Jangaon district in Telangana, on 08 January, 2026.
The MLA urged farmers to cooperate with the land acquisition process and instructed irrigation officials to repair the Damsa canal and local tanks. He proposed linking the Dadays to the Palakurthi main canal, ensuring year-round irrigation. "I am committed to completing the remaining works by June 2027 and to ensure irrigation water for every single acre of land," he said. Srihari, who had initiated the Devadula project in 2003-04 as the then irrigation minister, highlighted how the project transformed Jangaon into a leading rice-producing area. He stressed his priority to bring Godavari water to every village in his constituency.
The project, originally designed to cover six lakh acres, now has a revised budget of Rs 18,400 crore. In Zaffergadh Mandal, Package-6 is expected to irrigate 10,000 acres.
