The Water Resources Department (WRD), Bihar, has issued a tender for the rehabilitation and modernisation of the Western Kosi Main Canal from km 0.00 to km 18.29 under the India portion of the Western Kosi Irrigation Scheme.
The contract falls under the Bihar Water Security and Irrigation Modernization Project (BWSIMP) and is valued at Rs 169.65 crore. The work ncludes structural repairs, canal lining, and modernisation of associated irrigation systems.
The initiative aims to upgrade critical irrigation infrastructure to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure water security in the region. The objective is to strengthen resilience against climate variability and promote sustainable water management practices.
