The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has accorded terms of reference (ToR) for capacity expansion of Cuddalore Port Tamil Nadu.
The project undertaken by Tamil Nadu Maritime Board involves capacity expansion of cargo handling from the present 0.37 million tpa to 5.68 million tpa for which additional berths of 120 mtr x 38.7 mtr of two nos will be required at the Uppanar and Paravanar confluence, Cuddalore.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 115 crore. Multiple cargo handling of 5.68 million tpa will be installed.
The project will create direct employment opportunities for 1,500 people and indirectly for 10,000 people.
