Torrent Power, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, and Shalby Hospitals are among six Gujarat-based companies investing Rs 33,320 crore in Chhattisgarh.
This will create employment for over 15,000 people in the region. Torrent Power emerged as the top investor, promising Rs 22,900 crore for a 1,600 MW thermal power plant and 5,000 work opportunities. Torrent Pharmaceuticals has committed Rs 200 crore for a pharma facility. Other investors include Onixthree Enersol, Shalby Hospitals, Sapphire Semicon, and the Mala Group.
Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, highlighted the state's new industries policy, which has attracted investments in sectors like energy, steel, electronics, and textiles. The state aims to increase coal and mineral production while enhancing infrastructure to foster further investments.
