The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is constructing a terminal building at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee (KBR) Airport at Leh in Ladakh. The project worth Rs 336.19 crore will spread over 18,985 sq mtr of land. The new terminal will provide seamless passenger movement with modern amenities.
In September 2018, Shapoorji Pallonji bagged an order to execute the project. In February 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the project. Following this, in May 2019, work on the project was kick-started.
As per information available with Projects Today, around 20 percent work on the project was completed, with completion scheduled for September 2021.
