Underdog Athletics, the exclusive distributor and licensee for US-based athletic performance apparel and footwear brand Under Armour in India, is set to expand its retail footprint significantly by adding eight to ten new stores each year.
The company aims to achieve a retail revenue of Rs 1,500 crore over the next five years, reflecting a two-and-a-half to three-fold increase from current levels. According to Managing Director Tushar Goculdas, "In FY25, we reached retail value revenue—the value of products purchased by consumers—of Rs 500 crore."
Currently operating 49 stores across 30 cities, including 16-17 stores in major metros like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, Under Armour plans to maintain steady growth of around 20-25 percent annually. The brand is also eyeing expansion into five to ten new cities over the next three years, targeting regions such as Patna, Ranchi, Varanasi, Siliguri, and Visakhapatnam.
"We have always planned to open eight to ten stores per year. It’s not a hard and fast target for any particular year, but it’s the long-term average we are committed to," MD Goculdas said, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strategic, sustainable growth.
