Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated development projects worth Rs 330 crore in Ahmedabad, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 28 December, 2025.
The programme, organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, featured key projects such as the Western Trunk Main Line Project, aimed at improving infrastructure in western and south-western areas of the city. The installation of large RCC pipelines, costing around Rs 400 crore, will now provide permanent solutions to drainage and wastewater problems in several areas, improving the quality of life for residents.
As a result, nearly 15 lakh residents in areas such as Gota, Chandlodia, Science City, South Bopal, Bhadaj, Hebatpur, Thaltej, Bopal-Ghuma, Bodakdev, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Maktampura, Mahmadpura, Fatehwadi, Shantipura, and Sanathal will receive a permanent solution to issues related to drainage overflow and wastewater management.
