The Union government has approved a Rs 115 crore project to build a vehicle underpass (VUP) at Chintareddypalem Junction on National Highway, aiming to alleviate congestion and reduce accidents.

This long-awaited development also includes the construction of service roads from Chintareddypalem Junction to Muthukur Road. The underpass is expected to significantly improve safety and ease traffic flow at this busy junction. Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, who has consistently pursued the project since his election, met with Union Ministers multiple times and raised the issue in the Lok Sabha. His efforts, supported by state IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, culminated in this approval.

MP Vemireddy expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their support, calling it a "dream come true" for the residents of Nellore. Locals also celebrated the sanction, noting it would put an end to years of fear and inconvenience.
