On 15 November, 2025, the second aerobridge at Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan International Airport became operational, improving passenger movement and overall airport efficiency.
The new facility, approved by the DGCA, was first used by Air India’s AI-2789 flight from Mumbai, followed by its return service. This milestone follows the airport’s recent transition to a modern terminal, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in May, 2025. The terminal began handling commercial flights on 03 June, 2025. With the opening of boarding gate 10 linked to the new aerobridge, Airport Director Chandra Pratap Dwivedi emphasised the ongoing focus on infrastructure development.
The terminal, designed to accommodate 3,000 passengers at peak hours, will eventually have a total of five aerobridges. The airport serves 92-96 daily flights, with IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet among the key carriers operating from the facility.
