Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with key Ministers, has approved several projects to boost infrastructure and regional development. Significant among these are the development of two new regions modeled after the State Capital Region (SCR) – Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region and the Varanasi-Vindhya Development Region.
Key initiatives include the extension of the Ganga Expressway to connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Ghazipur, and the development of a link expressway known as the ‘Prayagraj-Vindhya-Kashi Expressway’.
Additionally, major bridge projects include a six-lane bridge parallel to the Signature Bridge over Yamuna and a four-lane bridge connecting Salori-Hetapatti-Jhunsi, further enhancing regional connectivity. The Cabinet also approved multiple infrastructure and development projects, including the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence Unit and Employment Promotion Policy 2024. Other notable projects include the establishment of the Prosecution Directorate, issuance of municipal bonds for various cities, and upgradation of Government Industrial Training Institutes.
Another proposal is for the establishment of an Autonomous State Medical College in Balrampur, enhancing healthcare infrastructure. These initiatives aim to significantly improve infrastructure, regional connectivity, and economic development across the state, reinforcing the state's commitment to holistic growth.
