Va Tech Wabag, in a JV with Pratibha Industries, has bagged an order from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB), for development of water treatment Plant in Nepal.
The order, worth Rs 262 crore, has been received and the scope of work includes construction of water treatment plant at Sundarijal.
The proposed water treatment plant will be executed by MWSDB and is part of the Melamchi water supply project. It will treat water from the Melamchi river and discharge the treated water through pipeline upto battery limits.
The plant will have an initial capacity of 85 million litre per day and will be designed to be expanded to 170 million litre per day and to 510 million litre per day at a later stage.
The project has been funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
