Waaree Energies’s board has approved expansion plans for three of its manufacturing subsidiaries, involving a total additional capital expenditure totalling Rs 8,175 crore to expand its energy storage, electrolyser, and inverter businesses.
The largest investment, nearly Rs 8,000 crore, will be directed toward scaling up lithium-ion advanced chemistry storage cells and battery energy storage systems (BESS) capacity from 3.5 GWh to 20 GWh under its subsidiary Waaree Energy Storage Solutions. Additionally, the company approved expanding its electrolyser manufacturing capacity from 300 MW to 1,000 MW with a Rs 125 crore investment via Waaree Clean Energy Solutions.
The inverter manufacturing plant’s capacity will also increase from three GW to four GW with Rs 50 crore allocated under Waaree Power. Waaree Energies aims to strengthen its clean energy portfolio to meet growing demand in domestic and global markets.
