World Green Energy (WGE) has signed a land sublease agreement with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (TSSEZL) for 50 acres at Gopalpur Industrial Park, Odisha.
This marks the beginning of WGE’s two GW TOPCon solar cell and 1.2 GW TOPCon solar module manufacturing facility. The project aims to strengthen India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem and supports the country’s vision of becoming carbon-neutral by 2047. WGE’s facility will use advanced technology to produce highefficiency solar products catering to both domestic and global markets. The initiative is expected to boost local employment and skill development in the region.
Tata Steel SEZ welcomes the partnership, highlighting the strategic advantage of Gopalpur Industrial Park in becoming a sustainable industrial hub. This move reinforces Odisha’s role in India’s clean energy transition and solar supply chain development.
