Hiranandani Group-backed data centre firm Yotta Data Services has started to add two new buildings to its ‘D1’ data centre in Greater Noida, and has also commenced work on an ‘edge’ data centre in Guwahati. The expansion will be completed and made operational by mid- or end-2024.
The Yotta-D1 data centre is 85 percent full right now, and the company has begun construction on its D2 and D3 facilities. The full capacity will have six full-scale buildings. The cloud services firm set up a 220 kV substation on-campus to fulfill its power consumption requirements, which took 18 months for laying the power lines.
Yotta is also in the process of strengthening its tier-II market presence, but will do so in a staggered fashion as the facilities see a momentum in demand .
The Uttar Pradesh government has offered critical sops to Yotta to facilitate its data centre operations in the National Capital Region (NCR), the company's first such facility in north India.
