The Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City (ZISC), initiated as a "National Investment Manufacturing Zone" (NIMZ) spanning 12,300 acres across 17 villages in Sangareddy district, is set to commence infrastructure works in the coming months.
Part of the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, the project aims to attract Rs 15,000 crore in investments and generate nearly two lakh direct and indirect employment. Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has floated tenders for designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure under the corridor’s framework.
Phase-I covers 3,245 acres, with 1,900 acres for industrial use, 650 acres for green areas, and the remainder for amenities, logistics, residential, and commercial infrastructure.
The project cost is Rs 2,369 crore, with TGIIC holding 51 percent equity (Rs 620.96 crore) and NICDIT 49 percent (Rs 596 crore), the rest funded via debt to the special purpose vehicle, NICDIT Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City. About 2,900 acres have been acquired, with the rest to follow. Tenders will be finalised by October, and works are expected to conclude within 18 months.
