Cloud software provider Zoho plans to venture into power tools manufacturing, and is ready to commercially manufacture a set of hand-held tools under the brand name 'Karuvi'. The hand-held tools will help create more employment opportunities in the country.
Fueleld by innovative ideas in the factory being built in Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu, the company is now mulling commercial production. This venture is an addition to the diverse portfolio of the company.
The idea for starting Karuvi originated from a Zoho customer who owns Mr Light Global. Nearly two years ago, both companies set up a small manufacturing team to work on the concept of handheld tools. The team had two engineers initially, and has since then expanded to about 10.
Zoho is the parent company of well-known technology brands, including ManageEngine, and recently announced Zakya, which offers point-of-sale (PoS) solutions for retail shops.
