In the Hospital sector, 543 tenders worth Rs 9,502.42 crore were issued during Q1/FY26. The major tender issued by Roads & Buildings Department, Telangana, for the construction of New Osmania General Hospital Complex at Goshamahal in Hyderabad. The value of the tender was Rs 1,667.18 crore.The Mining sector witnessed the issuance of 222 tenders worth Rs 1,663.93 crore during the Q1/FY26. The largest tender in this sector was floated by Bharat Coking Coal for development and operation of Pure Benedih-Block-II UG Mine in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. The estimated value of the work is Rs 1,108.33 crore.In the Electricity sector, 547 tenders floated worth Rs 7,290.87 crore. The North Eastern Electric Power Corpn. invited tender worth Rs 11,586.71 crore for the civil works of power intake, head race tunnel, surge shaft, valve chamber, pressure shafts & penstock, underground powerhouse complex (comprising of powerhouse cavern, transformer - GIS cavern, collection chamber, main access tunnel (MAT), cable access tunnel (CAT)) unit tail race tunnels, main tail race tunnel, pothead yard and various construction adits pertaining to Tato-II Hydro Electric Project (700 MW) in Arunachal Pradesh. BY STATESIn Q1/FY26, India witnessed an effort to build a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects by state agencies. The top 10 states, ranked by tender value, collectively accounted for 75.29 percent of the total tendered job value.Among the states, the top 10 - Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu - accounted for 75.29 percent of the total tenders announced across the country during Q1/FY26. Bihar topped the chart (in terms of tender value) with 1,817 tenders worth Rs 50,975.52 crore. With the Bihar state assembly elections expected in November 2025, it is likely that the state may witness a surge in tender announcements and project order finalisations in the next two quarters.Rajasthan ranked second position with 2,015 project tenders worth Rs 48,922.14 crore.
