In the previous quarter, their roles were somewhat subdued.NHAI issued most notable tenders for the development of 4 lane Badvel to Nellore Highway from Badvel Gopavaram village on NH-67 (design Ch. 630.960) to Guruvindapudi village on NH-16 (Design Ch.739.094) in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) mode. The estimated value of the work is Rs 2,841.38 crore. Another mega tender issued by Madhya Pradesh Road Devp. Corpn. (MPRDCL) was for the development of UjjainJaora access-controlled greenfield highway, including Ujjain spur connectivity as 4-lane with paved shoulder (Design length- 98.73 km) in Madhya Pradesh on Hybrid Annuity Mode. The aggregate value of the tenders is Rs 2,418.47 crore. In all, NHAI published 608 road building tenders with an aggregate value of Rs 13,691.77 crore. Bihar State Road Devp. Corpn. issued tenders with an aggregate value of 10,506.36 crore and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) floated 211 tenders worth Rs 7,675.61 crore.The Community Services sector secured the second position with 6,873 tenders worth Rs 59,895.44 crore during Q1/FY26. One of the most notable tenders in this sector was floated by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) for the construction of an integrated Andhra Pradesh state secretariat & HoD offices (towers 1 to 4 & GAD tower) in Amaravati Government Complex, in Andhra Pradesh. The aggregate value of the tenders was Rs 3,514.54 crore.Another notable tender in this sector was floated by the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy, for engineering, procurement and construction of civil infrastructure and vacuum infrastructure for establishing LIGO India Observatory at Aundha in Hingoli district of Maharashtra. The estimated value of the work is Rs 1,600 crore.The Railways sector floated 1,726 tenders amounting to Rs 39,466.12 crore during the Q1/FY26. A key tender was floated by the West Central Railway for construction of a new railway line from Km 124.400 to km 165.380 in between Bahari and Gondawali stations. The scope of work includes earthwork, bridges, viaduct, ROB, RUB/LHS, station building, tunnels, track work and other miscellaneous works in connection with Sidhi-Singrauli new Rail link project in Madhya Pradesh on an EPC basis.In the Water Supply sector, 1,806 tenders worth Rs 37,085.82 crore were issued during Q1/FY26. Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan issued a tender worth Rs 4,831.52 crore for Chambal Alwar Bharatpur Water Supply project in Rajasthan on HAM basis under Package-1 to 3.The Power Distribution sector saw the floatation of 1,478 tenders worth Rs 30,409.03 crore. The Gujarat Energy Transmission Corpn. invited tender worth Rs 900.58 crore for the design, supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 765 kV D/C Som Pipaliya (Saurashtra) - Vataman line having route length 118.186 km with Hexa ACSR Zebra conductor (WZ-5) in Gujarat on turnkey basis under GEC-II Scheme. In all, the Irrigation sector saw issuance of 1,160 tenders worth Rs 24,003.24 crore during Q1/FY26. The Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project Corpn. issued a tender for the construction of Mor Sagar artificial reservoir and feeder from Bisalpur to Mor Sagar Artificial Reservoir, including all components with its O&M for a period of 20 years in Rajasthan on Hybrid Annuity Model (ERCP-11-09-TF-5). The aggregate value of the works is Rs 4,230 crore.
