Orders & ContractsJuly 202516www.projectstoday.comProjex Survey 99During the first quarter of the fiscal FY2026, a total of 2,290 project contracts, valued at Rs 1,81,285.44 crore, were awarded. These contracts were secured by 1,706 companies spanning various key sectors. Notably, 17 of the awarded contracts were bagged by Indian companies for undertaking job work overseas.The quarter also saw the awarding of 38 mega project contracts each worth Rs 1,000 crore or more with a cumulative value of Rs 81,750.16 crore. These mega deals accounted for approx. 45.09 percent of the total order value awarded during the period.BY SECTORSThe Infrastructure sector which includes Transport and Social Infrastructure sectors dominated project contract activity in Q1/FY26, accounting for 77.29 percent of the total contract value awarded. During the quarter, 1,923 contracts worth Rs 1,40,120.95 crore were finalised in this sector.Within this, key sub-sectors such as Real Estate, Roadways, Community Services, Railways, Power Distribution, and Water & Pipeline & Distribution emerged as top contributors, collectively representing approx. 65.07 percent of the total contract value awarded during the quarter.The Real Estate sector delivered a robust performance in Q1/FY26, by finalising 266 project contracts amounting to Rs 38,450.67 crore and accounting for 21.21 percent of the total contract value.Among the key contributors, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) led the way by awarding 27 contracts worth Rs 17,700.49 crore for the development of the greenfield capital city project %u2018Amaravati%u2019. Of the 27 contracts finalised, major contractors who bagged notable contracts are:1. Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL) bagged five contracts worth Rs 5,608.17 crore2. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was awarded five contracts totalling Rs 3,236.42 crore3. BSR Infratech India secured seven contracts aggregating to Rs 3,176.21 crore4. RVR Projects won four contracts amounting to Rs 2,813.66 crore These contracts also covered construction of balance smart trunk infrastructure with roads, drains, water supply, sewerage, utility ducts (for power and ICT), reuse waterlines in Zone-9A, 12A area, and several related work.The Roadways sector remained a key contributor in Q1/FY26, with 626 contracts awarded, with a total value of Rs 2,4930.5 crore accounting for 13.75 percent of the overall contracts finalised during the quarter.
