Chennai Radha Engineering Works bagged a Rs 999.76 crore contract from Northern Coalfields for handling, transport, and overburden removal services at the Bina Project of NCL.4. Vinay Kumar Upadhyay received a Rs 712.40 crore contract from South Eastern Coalfields for composite mining services, including handling, transport, and overburden removal at the Saraipali OCP in Korba Area, Chhattisgarh.In the Petroleum, Oil, and Gas sector, a total of nine project contracts were awarded during Q1/FY26. A notable contract in this segment was secured by Deep Industries from Oil India for the hiring of one mobile workover rig package, aimed at supporting oilfield maintenance and production operations.In the Iron Ore sector, a single contract was finalised. Hindustan Zinc emerged as the preferred bidder for the grant of a composite license through e-auction conducted by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. The license pertains to the Balepalyam Tungsten and Associated Mineral Block, covering an area of 308.30 hectares in Ananthapuram District, Andhra Pradesh.In Q1/FY26, the Irrigation sector experienced significant momentum, with 113 contracts finalised, amounting to a total value of Rs 4,192.99 crore. This growth reflects the government%u2019s ongoing commitment to strengthening water resource infrastructure, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring water security across various regions.Some of the major contracts awarded in this sector include:1. Patel Engineering secured a Rs 1,318.80 crore contract from the City & Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra for the construction of Kondhane Dam and allied works. The project, located at Village Kondhane, Taluka Karjat, District Raigad, Maharashtra, will employ roller-compacted concrete (RCC) technology.2. EMS, in joint venture with NeerCare India, was awarded a Rs 781.97 crore contract by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for pollution abatement work aimed at the rejuvenation of River Adi Ganga in Kolkata, West Bengal.3. M. Venkata Rao Infra Projects bagged a Rs 480.65 crore contract from the Amaravati Development Corporation for the construction of (i) Kondaveeti Vagu (23.60 Km) (ii) Pala Vagu (16.70 Km) and (iii) Sakhamuru Reservoir (0.03 TMC) in Amaravati Capital City, Andhra Pradesh on lump sum contract, including DLP of two years (Package I) in Vijayanagaram district in Andhra Pradesh. TOP 10 STATES In Q1/FY26, Andhra Pradesh emerged as the topperforming state, finalising 112 project contracts valued at Rs 36,772.51 crore. Maharashtra ranked second with the highest number of contracts (329), amounting to Rs 20,430.27 crore. Tamil Nadu followed with 156 contracts, with a cumulative value of Rs 11,763.85 crore.
