Tumkur Mega Food Park in Karnataka was inaugurated today by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The project is being set up by Future Consumer Enterprise’s Integrated Food Park. The food park is located at the Vasanthapura Industrial Estate, in Tumkur district of Karnataka.
It has been set up with an investment of Rs 140 crore, on 10 acre of land.
The park will house pulping, milling, flouring, spice and dal units and will have an 80,000 sq ft cold store to supply fruits and vegetables around the year. It will also have a manufacturing centre for 60 medium-sized food processing units that make ready-to-eat products.
The food park will become operational by December 2014.
