Vikram Solar, module manufacturer and rooftop solar & EPC solutions provider, has secured an order for one MW floating solar plant for Hindustan Zinc.
The solar plant will be located at Ghosunda dam, near Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This will be Vikram Solar’s second floating solar project after it gave India its first floating solar plant in 2015, which is located in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The project will be one of the first MW-scale floating projects in the country for the Indian private sector.
Vikram Solar’s 330 Wp 72-cell ELDORA Polycrystalline modules will be used during installation. The solar plant is expected to have an energy yield of 1,993 MWh per year and will be able to power 1,400 houses per year. The project is expected to be commissioned by July 2019.
The company has recently concluded a 130 MW for NTPC at Bhadla in Rajasthan, 80 MW for GIPCL at Charanka in Gujarat, 40 MW for IL&FS at Kachaliya in Madhya Pradesh, and is known for its innovative projects and airport installations.
