Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has planned to
set up wind power generating capacity of 100 MW in a phased manner. The PSU
petroleum refiner has shortlisted Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and
Rajasthan as possible locations to house the project. The project cost is an
estimated Rs.400-500 crore.
It is learnt that HPCL would either split the
capacity across the four selected states or install a single plant of 100 MW in
one of the states.
HPCL has planned to soon launch global bids from
wind energy developers to construct the plant on a turnkey basis.
