The board of Bajaj Hindusthan has approved the
setting up of a greenfield distillery in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed unit, to
come up at Kinnauni near Meerut, will have a capacity of 160 kilo litres per day
(klpd) and would cost Rs.60 crore.
With this, the company's total distilling
capacity will increase to 305 klpd from the current 145 klpd.
The board also approved the proposal of raising
up to $200 million from the domestic or overseas market in the form of GDRs/FCCBs
or private placement of equity.
