Iranian Offshore Engineering & Construction
Co has won a $30 million contract for constructing an oil terminal for Indian
Oil Corporation at Paradip Port.
The project scope involves construction of a
floating crude oil terminal along with a 20 km (48" dia) pipeline. Crude
carriers will transfer (at sea) oil to the terminal through the pipeline.
Work on the project would begin in September 2005
and is targeted for completion before December 2005, it is learnt.
The floating oil terminal is part of IOC's
Paradip greenfield refinery project. Work on the refinery, which might undergo a
change in project scope, is scheduled to begin in December 2006 with completion
targeted for March 2010.
