Honda Siel Cars India has reaffirmed its plans of
doubling its existing car manufacturing capacity over the next five years.
Honda has recently completed a Rs.150 crore
expansion project that has taken capacity to 50,000 cars per annum from the
earlier 30,000 cars per annum at the Greater Noida unit in Uttar Pradesh.
The company has also added a new modern welding shop and an assembly section.
Further plans are to double capacity to 1,00,000 cars per annum, by 2010.
The investment for the capacity doubling is
estimated at Rs.700 crore, to be sourced from internal accruals.
