On 31 January 2006, Alok Industries' in the board
meeting has approved the following:
- Capital expansion of the company, envisaging
expansion of spinning capacities apparel and wider width weaving capacities,
wider width processing capacities and made up / garment stitching capacities
at a cost of Rs.1100 crore. The project cost will be funded through rupee
term loans of Rs.900 crore under TUF Scheme and internal accruals of Rs.200
crore.
- Approval for setting up a 50 MW captive power
plant at Silvassa for the existing and future operations. The project will be
funded through external commercial borrowings.
