Nahar Spinning Mills has begun
foundation work for its greenfield textile project in Punjab. According to
company officials, the foundation work for the factory building of both phases
has begun concurrently. Orders for machinery have already been placed with
reputed international suppliers like Benninger and Monforts in April 2006.
Nahar is setting up a new fabric
processing unit at Lalru in Patiala district of Punjab. The project, costing
Rs.200 crore, will be spread over two phases. In Phase I costing Rs.100 crore,
capacity for processing 0.5 lakh metres of day of cloth would be installed.
Phase II, entailing an identical investment, would add another 0.5 lakh metres
of cloth processing capacity.
The project is scheduled for full
completion by end-May 2007.
