The 540
MWe Unit 3 of Tarapur Atomic Power Plant, which attained criticality on 21
May 2006 and which was synchronised to the Western Grid on 15 June 2006, is
scheduled for full commercial by end-July 2006.
TAPS-Unit III which is operating at 50
per cent capacity from June 2006 has completed all tests.
TAPP-4 that turned critical in March
2005 and TAPP-3 and will supply electricity to western states like
Maharashtra, Goa and Chhattisgarh. However, Maharashtra would received the
highest share of 38 per cent.
(Note: The TAPP-4 project was
commissioned before TAPP-3)
