Sterlite Technologies received two
contracts worth Rs.107 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam for fiber optic cables
and copper telecom cables.
The first contract is for supply of
Sterlite's Ribbon-Lite 96F ribbon fiber optic cables that BSNL will install in
about 900 cities across the country and the second contract is for supply of 10
to 2,000 pair copper telecom cables. These cables will be installed at cities
across India, to support the nation's growing demand for ADSL broadband as well
as basic telephony in rural and urban areas.
