• PBA-Consite, a JV company of PBA Infrastructure bagged contracts worth Rs.45 crore from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority for construction of skywalk in Ulhasnagar East and West. The company's share in the contracts is 60 per cent that amounts to Rs.27 crore.  (project details)

• Jyoti Engineering bagged a Rs.541 crore contract to supply high-end metallic volute water pumps for phase-I and phase-II works of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam-owned Upper Bhadra lift irrigation scheme. Jyoti will jointly execute the phase I of the contract with Hyderabad-based SEW Constructions the project, while the next phase will be carried out with Bangalore-based RN Shetty Infrastructure for civil works.  (more...)

• Bharat Heavy Electricals bagged an order worth Rs.1,474 crore from NTPC to set up 1,320 MW supercritical steam turbine generator (STG) package at Barh thermal power project in Patna. • Jindal Drilling & Industries bagged $165 million contract (about Rs.810 crore) for leasing its rig to Oil & Natural Gas Corporation. The rig has been contracted for three years and the contract is effective from 15 October 2008.

• ITL Industries bagged bulk order worth Rs.54.93 crore from Steel Authority of India for supply of sitting line and tube mill. (further details awaited).

• HCC-MEIL-BHEL JV secured a contract worth Rs.1,928 crore from Government of Andhra Pradesh, Irrigation & CAD Department for investigation, designs and execution of lift irrigation scheme of drawal /lifting of 88.24 TMC of water of Mid Manar to new reservoir at Anantagiri village.

• ITD Cementation consortium bagged a contract from Airports Authority of India for the Kolkota airport modernisation project. (project details)

• ITD Cementation bagged a contract from Indian Oil Corporation for cast-in-situ piling for Hydrogen generation unit project of the Barauni refinery. The project involves 400 nos 500 mm dia RCC cast in situ piles of 15 mtrs length to be completed in four months.

• Elecon Engineering Co bagged three orders worth Rs.51.74 crore. The first order which is valued at Rs.15.50 crore is from Techpro Systems, Chennai while the second and third orders have been placed by SAIL-Durgapur Steel Plant, Durgapur valued at Rs.14.45 crore and Rs.21.78 crore respectively. • Insituform Pipeline Rehabilitation, a JV formed by Subhash Projects & Marketing along with Insituform Technologies Inc, USA bagged an order worth Rs.95.8 crore contract from Delhi Jal Board for restoration of trunk sewer lines.

• Era Infra Engineering bagged a contract worth Rs.41.78 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for construction of Sarita Vihar Depot cum workshop in-between Madanpur Khadar & Aaligaon on Mathura Road for Central Secretarial-Badarpur Corridor of Delhi Metro Rail project (Phase II). • KMB-ERA JV,  formed by Era Infra Engineering in association with Kyivmetrobud, Ukraine bagged a contract worth Rs.113.02 crore from Airports Authority of India for the construction of a new expandable modular integrated terminal building at Devi Ahilya Bal Holkar Airport at Indore in Madhya Pradesh. • Efkon India, a subsidiary of Germany's Efkon AG, along with Strabag of Sweden has received orders worth Rs.6.5 crore to build and manage toll management services for the Pink City Expressway and the Trichi Tollway. The Pink City Expressway, a stretch from Jaipur to Gurgaon via Kotputli, is a 38 lane project for which the company is installing toll system for three toll plazas, while the Trichi Tollway is a long stretch from Trichi to Ulundurpet on NH 45, for which the company will install two plazas.

• Sterlite Technologies received a contract for Rs.24 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam to supply fiber optic cables with the highest density ever to be deployed in the country. BSNL will initially install the fiber optic cables in about 100 city sites across the country.

• Alfa Laval won an order worth Rs.102 crore from Vedanta Aluminium for three thermal evaporation systems for their expansion project in India.

B. Overseas Contracts
