Jyoti
Engineering has bagged a Rs.541 crore contract to supply high-end metallic
volute water pumps for phase-I and phase-II works of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam-owned
Upper Bhadra lift irrigation scheme. Jyoti will jointly execute the phase I of
the contract with Hyderabad-based SEW Constructions the project, while the next
phase will be carried out with Bangalore-based RN Shetty Infrastructure for
civil works.
The company is
required to supply 28 pumps with 6.6 MW ratings for the project. Jyoti will earn
Rs.117 crore and Rs 424 crore, respectively, for phase-I and phase-II works.
Under the project, Jyoti will lift 15 TMC water from Tunga and deliver to the
Bhadra Reservoir under phase-I and 21.5 TMC from the Bhadra Reservoir to a
delivery chamber near Ajjampur under phase-II. The contract will also include
field survey, engineering, design, hydraulic studies, pump manufacturing,
erection and commissioning, operating and maintaining the pumps for five years.
