Surya Roshni has chalked out an investment plan of Rs 550 crore for both
capacity expansion and modernisation.
The investment plan is expected to be funded through accruals and loans from
State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.
Of the total, Rs 400 crore has been earmarked for setting up a steel pipe
plant in Bhuj, Gujarat in order to cut down on the raw material costs of steel.
The plant is likely to have a production capacity of 3 lakh tonne of pipes per
annum. Another sum of Rs 100 crore is likely to be invested for setting up a
plant on 50 acre near Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The plant, which will produce
high-mast towers and octagonal street-light poles, will have a capacity of
40,000 poles per annum. The remaining Rs 50 crore will be used for the
modernisation of its cold rolling strip mill at Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
