Inox Wind (IWL), a subsidiary of Gujarat Fluorochemicals (GFL), on 29 March
2010, commissioned its wind turbine generator (WTG) manufacturing unit in Una,
Himachal Pradesh.
The WTG has commenced commercial production and it has dispatched its first
unit comprising nacelles and hub for a 2-MW wind turbine.
IWL is investing around Rs 150 crore to set up manufacturing facilities
located at Una and Bawla, Gujarat, with the Himachal Pradesh unit manufacturing
nacelles and hubs, and the Gujarat unit making blades and towers for wind
turbines.
IWL's 2-MW wind turbine is expected to be manufactured under a global licence
provided by Austria based AMSC Windtec.
