Singapore based Raffles Education Corporation is mulling to set up design
colleges in Chennai Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad at an
investment of around Rs 100 crore by December 2010.
The company already has such colleges in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. These
colleges offer courses in design technology to do with fashion, interiors,
graphics, multi-media, animation and jewellery, among others.
Meanwhile, the company is keen to set up a university in India at an
investment of Rs 450 crore to offer higher education programmes in business
management, engineering, hospitality and health sciences.
