Gujarat Pipavav Port (GPPL) is likely to utilise 1,000 acre of undeveloped
land for further expansion of its operations.
Of the 1,561 acre available land, GPPL has developed around 485 acre. The
additional land is likely to be used for additional berthing and cargo handling
facilities both at the waterfront and in the back-up areas. Also, plans are
afoot to develop and sub-lease land to third parties.
In addition, GPPL intends to optimally utilise the current infrastructure. In
the case of bulk cargo, it plans to pursue long-term strategic arrangements for
the use of the port.
