NALCO has earmarked Rs 300 crore to set up wind
energy project.
Currently, NALCO is in the process of inviting bids for setting up a 50-MW
wind energy project. The wind mill is likely to be set up in Gujarat, Rajasthan
or Tamil Nadu.
NALCO is likely to enter into separate contracts with the prospective
companies for sale of land, engineering, procurement and construction, and
operation and maintenance of the project.
Meanwhile, the company is in the process of setting up smaller wind mills at
high-altitude regions in Orissa to ascertain if such projects are feasible in
that area.
