NMDC is likely to commence construction of a three million tpa integrated
steel plant in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh in October 2010.
The company is likely to pump in over Rs 15,000 crore in the proposed plant.
The plant may require 5.5 million tpa of iron ore which is to be sourced from
the company's Bailadila mines in Dantewada district of the state.
The plant is likely to begin commercial production after 40 months from the
date construction work begins.
