Airports Authority of India is
planning to invest Rs.120 crore to set up aerobridges at 18 airports, to
facilitate free movement from the aircraft to the airport's terminal building.
The identified locations for the
aerobridges include non-metro airports such as Vadodara, Lucknow, Guwahati and
Raipur. While aerobridges will be set up at five airports including Lucknow,
Baroda and Guwahati initially, they will be extended to 18 non-metro airports in
the country, at a later stage.
The contract for the proposed project
is likely to be awarded by February 2008.
